What does the beard represent in Islam?
According to the Sunnah, every Muslim man must grow a beard. Many hadiths report this, including the following: Ibn Abu Houreira (may Allah be pleased with them), the Prophet said: "It is part of the fitra (in other words innate behaviors on which Allah created us) of islam : Friday ghousl, using the siwak, trim the mustache and grow the beard. Certainly the Mazdeans (the polytheists who worship fire) grow their moustaches and cut their beards so differentiate yourself from them: trim your mustaches and grow your beards ".
